Ingredients
  • 1/3 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter or margarine
  • cup Cheerios® cereal
  • 1/4 cup chopped nuts or peanuts
  • quart ice cream, slightly softened
  •  Fresh berries or cherries, if desired
Directions
  1. In 1-quart saucepan, heat brown sugar and butter, stirring constantly, until thick and smooth. Reduce heat to low; stir in cereal and nuts. Cook 5 minutes, stirring constantly.
  2. Spread in thin layer on ungreased cookie sheet; cool.
  3. Crumble into bite-size pieces. Spread half the pieces in 8-inch square pan; spread with ice cream. Top with remaining pieces. Place in freezer about 1 hour or until frozen. Garnish with fresh berries.
